Mussolini's Italy invaded the East African nation of Ethiopia. There were several attempts to establish colonies in East Africa like in the 1800s Italys army was crushed by Ethiopians. Italy managed to keep several small colonies. -
Hitlers Excuse.
Under the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was required to keep its troops out of an area in the Rhine River Valley along the French border. However Hitler violated the treaty, sending troops into Rhineland. As an excuse he claimed that a recent French military agreement with the Soviet Union threatened Germany. -
