In the 1700s there were few jobs left and robbers stole things that cost over a shilling (about $50 in todays money) even though the penalty was harsh. -

To ease the pressure on overcrowded jails they sent some of the prisoners to their colonies in America to make room for more inmates. -
Captain Phillips Crew Left Britain
Captain Phillip left Britain with a lot of inmates and some families to make room for other families and inmates in Britain and picked up some more inmates along the way to Australia. -

After captain cook though Australia was a suitable place to send the convicts in 1770 he put up a flag and said he was claiming this land for the king of England . -
American Independence
The Americans wanted to be an independent country but Britain wouldn't allow that and they had a war, when the war was over in 1783 that day was known as Independence Day. -

in 1788 Captain Cook arrived in Australia with his crew, the ships, the inmates and the families. -

When Captain Cook new that the place that they landed in was not a suitable place to set up they moved and found an area where the soil was rich and the plants would thrive. -

In the year of 1788 the first permanent village was made by the convicts. -
The Abduction
In 1789 Captain Phillip Abducted two Aboriginal people in hopes of learning more about them, he abducted Bennelong and one other Aboriginal. -
Sydney
In 1789 the British named Sydney, Sydney. -
FREE!
In 1790 Bennelong was set free and as soon as soon as he got out he stripped his clothes of and went back to his old life. -
Brutal Payback
In 1790 the Aboriginals speared Captain Phillip as payback for abducting Bennelong and the other Aboriginal. -
The Second Fleet
In 1790 the second fleet arrived after some delay. -
The New Governor
in 1806 governor William Bligh arrived in Australia. -
Death
In 1814 Captain Arthur Phillip leads a very sad death. -
Sad Crime
In 1838 a group of settlers captured then slaughtered around 30 Aboriginal people and the jury sentenced them to death but they protested and said that they thought it wasn't a crime to kill an Aboriginal. -
Populated
The amount of people in Australia in 1850 totalled to 300,000 people in total.
