Navigation Acts
- Was created to restrict trade with countries outside of the colonies
- Forced colonists to trade with the British only, and imposed an export/ import tax
- The colonists continued to trade with other countries by smuggling

Sugar Act
- Created to stop the smuggling of goods out of the colonies to sell to the surrounding countries.
- It put a tax on sugar which was needed for the creation of rum, which was the colonies main export.
- The colonists responded by boycotting any British luxury imports

Quartering Act
- The British Needed a place to house their troops
- The British Troops could live in the colonists' houses and had the right to what ever they wanted
- They said it violated their bill of rights

Stamp Act
- The British needed to pay off their debt from the French and Indian war
- Was a tax on all paper goods and documentations
- Their were public protests around Boston

Declaratory Act
- Came after the British repealed the stamp act -Parliament had control over the colonies in all cases -The British will not give into the colonies

Townshend Acts
-Created to make the governors more money
-Tax on British imports in the western hemisphere, and the British were allowed to inspect houses for smuggled goods
-The British brought more troops, lead to Boston Massacre -
Tea Act
-Wanted to stop colonists from buying tea from the Dutch
- Created a monopoly on the sale of tea, by lowering their prices
- Boston Tea Party -
Coercive Act
- Boston Tea Party
- Increased powers of military leaders
- Colonists started rebelling laws

- Created to prevent a rebellion
- Allowed people to practice Christianity in Canada
- Colonies created first Continental congress
