Exposition 1: Backround
Savvanah Christopher, nicknamed "Savvy," had just moved to Rhode Island with her family from New Mexico, because her family was having money problems. They moved in with her Aunt Betty. Her family is very athletic. -
Exposition 2: Setting
They live on a cute farm in a small town in Rhode Island. It is their Aunt Betty's farm; it is right next to the woods where there are lots of coyotes that everybody hates. It is much colder than they are used to. -
Eposition 3: Characters
Savannah Christopher, Savvy, is a fourteen year old girl who loves basketball so much its like her religion. She is 6' 2" and still growing, doesn't show anyone when she is upset and tough’s things out.
Her Aunt Betty is a head strong farmer.
Her sister Calliope, Callie, loves cheerleading, cares about how she looks and always plays the victim.
Her friend, Nina Gonzolas, or Gonzo always pushes herself to do better and has a great sense of humor. -

This is the story of Savvy Christopher's life in the summer before eighth grade and in eighth grade. -
Exposition 4: Conflict
Savvy has just moved to Rhode Island from New Mexico, and doesn't feel welcome. She misses her home and feels unattached, she needs friends. -
Rising Action: Part 1
Savvy misses basketball a lot. So at the U16 basketball tryouts she does very well and meets a girl named Nina Gonzolas, Gonzo for short. They are both good at basketball and become instant friends. Gonzo convinces Savvy to try out for the U18s for a challenge. -
Rising Action: Event 2
Gonzo and Savvy make the U18 team, but the rest of the team isn’t too happy about that. Later, Savvy and her family are awoken and find that coyotes have eaten some of their lambs and have killed their dog. Then Aunt Betty had to go to the hospital, and Savvy promises that she will take care of the farm for her. Callie looks forward to her cheerleading practices starting this week. -
Rising Action: Part 3
Savvy isn’t doing as well on the U18 team as she thought she would. Later that day she overhears Callie talking to her cheerleading coach, she is saying that Callie needs to lose weight if she wants to stay a cheerleader. -
Rising Action: Part 4
Practices go by and Savvy still doesn’t feel welcome on the team. The other girls don’t talk to her. Callie has made a new friend, Alyssa, and they spend a lot of time at the gym getting fit. -
Rising Action: Part 5
While hanging out with her sister, Savvy starts to realize something strange is going on with Callie. She has lost a LOT of weight in a short time, and she seemed very weak. Savvy confronts her and tells her it isn’t healthy, but Callie ignores her. -
Rising Action: Part 6
While Savvy is practicing in the school gym with Gonzo, a few high school boys come in. One of them introduces himself, his name is Marc and he is very popular, he plays football and basketball. He challenges her to play a shooting game, called HORSE. She just barely wins, and realizes that she just might start having feelings for Marc. -
Climax: Turning Point: Part 7
One tournament, Savvy's team is losing, and Coach Fitz wants to win badly, so he takes a risk and puts Savvy in, he tells the team to "feed her like she hasn't eaten in a month." She ends up doing really well, and wins the game for them. The team now had a new respect for her, and started to become her friend. -
Falling Action: Part 1
Callie had already become very popular since she was a cheerleader, and looking very fit at this point. To start the year out she has a party. When Marc comes over, Savvy becomes extremely disappointed because she finds that Marc is now dating Callie. -
Falling Action: Part 2
On the first day of eighth grade she is completely miserable, because everyone is SO immature. All the boys make fun of her because of her height, and she is still mad at Callie for going out with Marc. -
Falling Action: Part 3
After Savvy goes through her gym bag, which no one goes in because she has a full season of stinky socks in there, so she goes out by the barn to feed the animals. A few hours later Savvy discovered she had poison ivy. -
Falling Action: Part 4
Savvy has an important tourtament this that day, and the poison ivy is still really itching her, so she took some Tylenol, telling Gonzo that she was on "the pills." Someone overheard and thought she meant steriods so they checked in her bag, they found steroids, she was not allowed to play the rest of the game. -
Falling Action: Part 5
Savvy was devastated that she was kicked off the team. Her team believed she didnt do it, they had all become really close the past few weeks, Savvy was miserable. -
Falling Action: Part 6
Savvy insisted that the pills werent her's, and her parents believed her. Finally it came to her...Marc, he put them there. So she confronted him, and he flipped out. He broke up with Callie, he later got tested just to prove they werent his. -
Resolution: Part 1
Savvy got tested and the results said that she didnt take the pills, so she was allowed back on the team, but the other teams found out and kept making fun of her, which made her feel ashamed. -
Resolution: Part 2
When Savvy sees that an effect of taking steriods is weight loss, then it all comes to her...it was Callie who put the pills in her bag. That night she told Callie that she knew. It turns out that she was hiding them in Savvy's bag, because no one would go in her stinky sock bag. She was taking them to loose weight, and it was all of Callie's friend, Alyssa's, idea. Callie got in a lot of trouble. -
Resolution: Part 3
Callie told Savvy she felt horrible, and Savvy was mad at her for a while. Savvy later forgave her because she knew that she was her only sister, they loved eachother no matter what. Savvy's dad got a job it payed a lot of money. Savvy made up with Marc. She knows that she has a bright future, and that she has tons of great friends and family to support her and make her happy...andthe great sound of a basketball swooshing through a net.
