    My first memory of going to the movies. I saw Return of The Jedi in 1983 at Town and Country Theatre in Norwalk, Ohio. The screen was HUGE!
  • Commodore 64

    Commodore 64
    I learned all about the Commodore 64 in elementary school. This was my first brush with computer technology. I was overwhelmed but I loved playing Oregon Trail.

    My grandpa bought a VCR and video camera. We spent hours watching movies, producing plays and recording them. How did they get a whole film in that VHS cassette? Times were changing!
  • Super Mario Brothers 3

    Super Mario Brothers 3
    Nintendo: My sister and I got one for Christmas and played Super Mario Brothers 3 until we saw Mario in our dreams. The graphics were phenomenal for the time.

    Christmas was a good one this year. I unwrapped a Gameboy. My hands are still sore from Tetris. This was the first time I had a hand-held technological device other than a Walk Man.

    Our family bought an Apple Macintosh. The Boose's made it to the '80's. Logging onto the internet was a long, loud process. I remember a CD Rom with the World Trade Center bombing video ('94 not 9/11) in it. Buffering took forever and the quality was poor, but I couldn't believe my computer could play videos.

    It wasn't until my freshman year at college that I got my first email address. I checked it once weekly, in the computer lab, after dinner at Otterbein College.

    Began studying television and radio broadcasting at The Ohio Center for Broadcasting.Trained in TV/radio production and journalism.

    I got a pager. Unlike physicians, I only received obscene texts from friends. I felt very important with it hooked to my belt.

    My first brush with LIVE television; selected as an intern for The Morning Exchange, a local talk show in Cleveland. I got to see all the professional television technology up-close.

    Hired as a reporter/anchor in Mansfield, Ohio. This was the start of a 16 year television news career. Edited, photographed, reported and anchored newscasts for every major network news affiliate in 5 cities.

    I still remember my first text message. It took me an afternoon to figure it out. It was from Aaron Perri, a friend in South Bend, Indiana. Soon after, I bought a Motorola Razr.

    Big changes at work. Digital cameras are bought and everything is now shot on digital and stored on a chip. Editing changes from tape-to-tape to AVID, non linear. My work flow because harder (learning curve) but eventually easier and faster.
