november 9
I am Reading november 9 by Colleen Hoover. We just met Fallon who is a 18 Year old girl. She has lunch with her asshole father about her acting career. When Fallon was 16 she was in a fire and a part of her body is scarred from that. So since then she has had a hard time getting back to acting, because of the scars. Ben, a random dude, just sat down with Fallon and her father and pretended to be Fallon's boyfriend. He talked right back to her father's face. -
Getting known
Fallon and Ben have been getting to know each other and you can tell they are starting to like each other more then just friends. Ben reserved a table at the same resturant they met so they can have one last time together before she leaves for New York. -
Fallon and Ben
Fallon and Ben decided to eat some frozen yogurt for some dessert before "Breaking up" the fake relationship. When they ate Fallon could not belive that Ben still was with her, because who would be with someone who looks like this, she thought. But Ben was honest and they both left to her apartment with a smile on their faces. Ben was going to help Fallon pack because at midnight she was moving to New York. (They are in LA) -
Leaving for New York
Fallon and Ben both fell asleep on Fallon's bed and slept trough the dinner Ben har booked. They both woke up and had to hurry to the Airport. On the way Ben and Fallon made each other homework. One of them was that they where going to meet each other every november 9th and have no contact in between. -
Meeting again
It has now been a year since Fallon and Ben have seen each other. Ben is sitting at the restaurant where they first met, waiting for Fallon to arrive, but she never did. It was because her flight was delayed. They met at Ben's house and ended up lying on Ben's bed and talking about what they had done in the past year. -
The Beach
After they had talked a bit about everything, they went downstairs to meet Jordyn (Ben's brother's fiance) While Fallon is meeting Jordyn, Ian comes in the door (Ben's brother, Jordyn's fiance) Fallon says hello to him too, next second comes the other brother of Ben in (Kyle) A little after they had met, Fallon sees that Kyle punches Ben in the face. They then decided to go away, away to the beach. Ben didn't want to talk about what had happened, instead he wanted to go and get a tattoo. -
Not meeting
After Ben got the tattoo they left for the airport for Fallon's flight. When Fallon is sitting on the plane, Ben comes running, he had forgotten to give her homework. "I had to buy a plane ticket to give you the homework." Until next year, they decided to meet in New York. A year later, Fallon are waiting at they meeting spot when she receives a phone call through the restaurant, Ben tells her that Kyle has been in accident and that he will not be able to meet her. -
sleepover
After Ben said he couldn't come and see her, there was a small gathering of family members at Ben's house as a comfort after the accident. Ben misses Fallon very much. When the doorbell rings, once again, Ben opens the door. Of course it is Fallon. They hug each other with so many emotions flying around. Fallon says she's leaving early next day, so she's sleeping over. While they are lying in bed talking, it is brought up whether Ben should move to New York. -
Leaving alone.
The next morning Fallon could see how much Jordyn need's Ben here to help her and to take care of her, especially now that the baby is almost here. Without a father to help raise him it will be hard. When Fallon tries to leave Ben begges her not to goto. Ben made her choose between staying and fall in love, or leave and meet up every november 9th as before. She begged him not to make her choose, but he was tetermed. So she left. -
Next year
a year later, Ben and Fallon meet up in LA. Only that this time Fallon will tell her that she has moved back to LA, but Ben is not alone when he meets Fallon. He has his nepthew with him, Oliver. Fallon quickly figures out from some small talk that Ben has started dating Jordyn. It ends with Fallon driving away and canceling the whole promise to meet on November 9. Ben also found out that she has moved to LA, and that she did it mostly for him. -
Another year
Another year has passed and Fallon goes to a club with her best friend and her boyfriend. When they are at the club they meet Ben. Fallon doesn't want to talk to him, but he insists. He begs and begs her to come home so he can explain, Ben says he doesn't date Jordyn anymore and wants Fallon back. Finally, Fallon gives in. She sleeps over but she wants a good explanation of everything that has happened. -
plot twist part 1
When Fallon wakes up, she sees that Ben is still sleeping. She gets up and looks around when she sees the manuscript that Ben has written about them (forgot to say earlier that he is writing a book about their life together, and the whole thing about meeting once a year) She takes it out and looks for the page where it says why Kyle beat Ben in the second year. -
plot twist part 2
What she reads turns everything around, he was the one who set her house on fire, the night she almost died. She is terrified and orders a Taxi. Ben runs after her and asks her to listen to his explanation him. Ben shoves the rest of the manuscript into the taxi before she drives away. -
The truth is almost here
It is now November 9 again and this year they are both 23. Fallon is sitting alone at home and does not want to talk to anyone this day. Then a box with a letter is delivered to her. it's from Ben asking her to read the novel he wrote about their lives, he asks her to read it for herself and not for his sake. Fallon's mother arrives while Fallon is sleeping ans starts reading first and reads almost everything. Fallon doesn't want to read but her mom begs her to, she begs her to read the truth. -
"Not the end. Far from it."
She continues reading and reads that Ben's mom didn't kill herself because of her father, but because she had cancer. She keeps reading about all the guilt Ben carried for 2 years after the accident. He writes a letter that he hid hid in the manuscipt. it says "I sit and wait until midnight, you know where I am". It is 11:56 when Ben walks out of the restaurants alone. Then he sees Fallon. The time turns 12:00 and they are still together. -
The truth part 2
She reads that Ben accidentally manages to set his whole house on fire. She reads that Ben never meant and hurt anyone and that he didn't show that there was anyone else in the house except Donovan. She reads that on the same night, Ben tried to take his own life because of the guilt he had after injuring a 16-year-old girl in the accident, Fallon O'Neil. -
The truth part 1
She begins to read. She reads that ben's mother killed herself on November 9 when he was 16 years old. She reads that Ben found out that the reason she killed herself was because of someone named Donovan O'Neil, her father. She reads that Ben went to Donovan's house because he was so angry.
