    Just what it says. The Germans surrendered WWII. They surrendered in Europe at the time. They surrendered because Hitler knew there was no way to win from that point.

    On this day, The US plane the Enola Gay, bombed the japanese power plant Hiroshima. This basically ruined Japan and they surrendered 9 days later.
