  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    General Abercrombie and 15,000 British troops attack thee French who are held up in Fort Ticonderoga. The fort is extremely well fortified. That and a mixture of bad leadership the french defeat the british in this battle. The British lose over 1900 men while the French only lose around 380
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Massachusetts was in a state of rebellion against the British. The colonists mounted a secret attack against the British forces there. The British predicted something of the sort, but the colonists still prevailed. The British lost 273 men while the colonists only lost 95.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Colonial Militia closed in around Boston. General Gage of the British set up defense. Forces clashes and both lost much life. The battle ended up in a Colonial victory even though they were forced to retreat because the British had more deaths by almost half and 4 times the injuries.
  • Battle of Trenton

    George Washington planned an surprise raid against a group of German mercenaries fighting for the British. This was a crucial, spirit-lifting victory for the colonists in one of the hardest time of the Revolution (winter).
  • Battle of Saratoga

    British army led by General Burgoyne went to attack colonial forces near Saratoga, New York. Many of the 10,000 british troops were lost in the journey. General Burgoyne still pressed on and attacked the colonist at Saratoga. Though the battle wasn't a technical win for either the British or the colonists, the british losses doubled those of the Colonists.
  • Siege of Charleston

    The British attacked the colonial forces in CHarleston, South Carolina. This was the biggest defeat of the colonists throughout the entire war. They lost 76 men, 189 were wounded, and over 3000 were captured by the British forces.
  • Battle of King's Mountain

    Colonial Troops attacked British loyalists at King's Mountain. Cornwallis was attempting to rally enough British Loyalist to make an impact to the war. This effort was put down by Colonial forces, who killed 157 loyalists, wounded 163, and captured 698.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Lt. General Cornwallis of the British opposed General George Washington of the American Colonies. This was a very major battle of the Revolutionary war and was the basic ending of the war. After three weeks of fighting the Colonist Army came out in victory with General Cornwallis' surrender.
