Birthday!
I was born on Easter of 1993. My Mom, Barbara, and my Dad, David, were both there to help me enter this crazy world. My brother, at the time was at a family friends house who would in time become my godmother. I came home to a fairly large house located in Santa Barbara, California. We lived on an orange and avocado orchard in the Santa Barbara foothills. -
Y2K
The first main event in my life was bringing in the new year of 2000. I remember people talking everywhere I went about this event called "Y2K". At the time I had no idea what they were talking about. On new years eve I remember going bowling with my Mom, Dad, brother Scott, cousins Hannah and Casey and my Aunt and Uncle. We had made special bowling T-shirts with our nicknames on them. The night was so much fun! The next week I recall people being relieved to bring in the new year. -
Parents Get Divorced
This was probably the hardest thing that I had to go through as a child. My family was splitting up and my brother Scott and I had to deal with a lot of change in our lives. We sold our house and my parents moved to houses about 2 miles from eachother. My brother and I spend 50/50 time with each parent and it definitely put a lot of stress and uncertaintly in me as a child. This event was traumatic as a young child. -
My Trip to Louisiana
I took a mission trip to Louisiana with my youth group after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. This trip was really life changing. I was away from my parents for the first time and I saw the real harsh realities of life. I spent two weeks total in Louisiana with my youth group that I was very involved in at the time. One week we helped rebuild houses and the next I volunteered at a childrens camp for kids who had been affected by the hurricane. It was my first real view of the world. -
Joining My Youth Group Band
After going to Louisiana with my youth group I decided to become more involved in my church. My brother played the drums in the youth group band and they needed a girl lead singer, I took the position right away! I loved being up on stage singing with my friends. Eric, a good friend was lead guitar and singer, we built such a great relationship through band and I truely loved being more involved. This was one time in my life of building true friendships and enjoying my passion of singing. -
Anchor Award
During my Junior High Graduation I received the Anchor Award. This award was given to one person who showed excellence in academics, social life, volunteer work and was an overall self acheiving person. I was so surprised when they called me to the stage to receive the award. My entire family was there as I not only received the award but graduated from Junior High. This day was very memorable and I am still so proud of my young self for achieving such an accomplishment. -
My Move To Auburn California
After my parents got divorced my Dad had always talked about moving to Northern California, he decided to the October of 2009. My Dad and I were very close and I tried to stay in Santa Barbara but eventually I decided to move up to Auburn with him. A few months later my brother decided to join. I finished high school in Auburn with my brother and also my two cousins that I was very close too. It really helped having my brother and my cousins who were originally from Auburn to smooth the move. -
Graduating From High School
My graduation was very special. My entire family came to celebrate and cheer me on from the stands. This was the first moment that I realized I could do anything and go anywhere. It was hard saying goodbye to a lot of friends but I decided to move back to Southern California and go to Community College at Santa Barbara City College. I moved back in with my mom and finished two years at SBCC. -
Going to Arizona State University
After two years of Community College I knew I wanted to move to a new state and try something completely new. I visited a few different schools but decided to come to ASU! I am loving my new school and making tons of new friends. I rushed last semester and am now a proud member of Delta Gamma. I miss California but I am truely having an amazing time at Arizona State.
