Offline Consoles
I recall growing up playing the newest games on NES, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis. Sonic and Super Mario Bros 3 were (and still are) some of my favorites of all time. -
Dial-up and Online PC Gaming
When I was about 8 years old I got to play the first MMO, Ultima Online, using dial-up internet. While there were rules and regulations in place for the game, they were not necessarily enforced (not like how game mechanics and rules function today). This led to a wild west sort of gameplay where there really weren't any laws, only guidelines. -
The first Socials
MySpace became a thing, and everyone had one during my Jr High/High School years. We all learned the basics of HTML to make custom profile pages, embedded music and just did anything and everything to stand out. It was really nothing like the Social Media of today, it was a much more wholesome experience, albeit much more innocent. -
Cell Phones become the norm
I got my first Cell Phone sometime around 2008. I had just moved out, got my GED, and opted to get a cell phone instead of a house phone. I tried to find the exact model, but it's lost forever, though it was similar to the iconic Motorola RAZR. -
Advanced Home Computers
After a lifetime of working towards it, I managed to get the fancy multi-monitor Alienware gaming setup that I always wanted. It's still an amazing feeling to be able to have this much technology working together in one cohesive unit, especially when systems like this were only ever portrayed in movies and media as something a hacker or government agency would have. Or maybe something from Dexters Laboratory.
