Resignation of Premier
Allan Macnab resigns as Premier and the new Premier is John A Macdonald.
I believe he was taking a huge risk here and in my opinion was just plain stupidity because he might not have gone back to parliament. -
Asking for Capital approval
John A macdonald prosoes the idea as Bytown/Ottawa as capitalof Canada.The governor general told John and George Brown that they have to act fast because the american colonies are growing faster and faster so they had to choose a capital.He recomended Bytown/Ottawa as the Capital.
I think this is ridiculous because it was such a small town with nothing around it, making it a bad choice in my opinion. -
Proposal Agreed
The Queen agrees about capital as Ottawa because it joins Upper and Lower Canada together and announces that it will be the Capital. -
Capital of Canada is Bytown/Ottawa
John announces that The Queen of England has chosen Canada's capital,Bytown/Ottawa in the House of commons. The Liberals got very angry and start shouting arguments.I think that Ottawa was a great choice because it connected the two provinces together because it connects upper and lower Canada. -

The Seventy-Two Resolutions Colonies that were going to form confederation met in Quebec City for the Quebec Conference, where the Seventy-Two Resolutions were agreed to.They were going to form the federation of Canada. -
First Prime Minister Elected
John A Macdonald gets sworn in as first Prime Minister of Canada. -
Provinces form a Confederation
Ontario,Quebec,Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Join Together and form a country. -
Canada becomes a country
Three Colonies Nova Scotia,New Brunswick, and the United Province of Canada(Now Ontario and Quebec) joined to form a self governing Dominion.This is why July 1st is called Canada Day. -
Red Ensign
In 1868 the Canadian red ensign was used by John A Macdonald to promote use of the new flag.
If Canada is becoming a country they need a new nice flag which this isn't in my opinion it wasn't a great choice for the new country. -

2 colonies join the Confederation of Canada and they are Manitoba and Northwest Teritories. -
Plans for Canada's railroad
John A Macdonald's Government siad they are going to build a railway that links the Pacific Provinces to the Eastern Provinces in 10 years or less. -

RCMP/GRC
Royal Canadian Mounted Police/Gendarmerie royale du Canada Is Created to help police the large nation. Now the RCMP is used to police small towns and remote areas of Canada.
This Is very important in my opinion because this is a huge part of Canada's democracy and safety as a young country. -
Railway finished
The Last Spike was Driven into the Canadian Pacific Railway at Craigllachie,British Columbia at 9:22 am that finished Canada's trancontinental railway

Finally! People go all the way to the west coast BY TRAIN! I think this was a huge success for Canada because it shows progress to this country.
