Clara Barton was born December 25, 1821. -

In 1831 Clara Barton starts to teach children in North Oxford. -

In 1854 Clara Barton moves to Washington D.C. as a clerk in a Patent office. This job paid more money than the job when she was teaching a school. -

Clara Barton wasn't well when she was teaching in Bordentown so she ended up moving to Washington D.C. -

I think that Clara Barton is a great and brave women because I certainly would not go into wars and help sick and hurt men. She is a brave women and I think everyone should know that. In the Civilr war she did a lot and effected a lot of people in good ways. -

During this time Clara Barton was a big help to the soldiers who were hurt. The first bimbing was in Maryland and she new lots of young men personally from her teaching days. She rushed to their aid and paid for food and supplies herself. -
ME-American Red Cross
Clara Barton becomes the founder and president of the American Red Cross in 1881. James A. Garfield gave her the permission for becoming the president. -
ME-Clara's Health
When President William McKinley was assassinated Clara was devastated because a solid supporter of the ARC. Her health suffered when he died and made things worse with the organization. Many close friends a long member of the Red Cross were now forcing her to leave. -
ME- Leaving the ARC
When almost all of her employees were forcing her out the Senate found her innocent but Clara had enough. So on May 14, 1904 she resigned and never worked for it again. She resigned when she was 83 years old! -
Death
Clara Barton died in the year of 1912 in Maryland on April 12. -

Clara Barton has effected all of Americans lives today. She practically created the Red Cross which is a very big deal. People who fought in the civil war had Clara's help if she didn't their families to this day would still mourn.
