Billy the kid was killed by Sheriff Garret on July 14, 1881 in the Maxwell house in fort summers because he was a known outlaw wanted for alot of crimes and escaping more than 10 prisons. The significance was that one member of the James gang was killed and now the authorities dont have to worry about this outlaw. -

Bass Reeves reaches a total of over 3,000 criminals arrested on November 27, 1901 throughout the west because the more people he arrested the safer he, his family and town would be. This is significant because people who do something wrong should be punihed.
