The Weimer Republic
Under the Weimar Constitution, Germany was divided into 19 states. All citizens had the right to vote, electing members of the Reichstag or German Parliament along with the President. The President in turn appointed a chancellor and an assortment of cabinet members. As many historians have noted, on paper, the Weimar Constitution was a brilliant document, and Germany under the Weimar Republic was a true democracy. -

The peace settlement signed after the World War I between germany and allied powers. This ened the war between the two. -

Great Depression
The Great Depression was the deepest and longest-lasting economic downturn in the history of the Western industrialized world. In the United States, the Great Depression began soon after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. -
Mussolini takes over
He established a new way of governing. After making himself known, he was practically invited by the King to step into the position of Prime Minister. He made changes in agriculture by draining swamp lands and building canals. He also made sure the rail system worked. -
Japan Invasion Of Manchuris And Response Of League Of Nations
Using the excuse of anarchy in the Chinese region of Manchuria, where Japan had economic interests, the Japanese invaded in 1931 and set up the puppet government of Manchukuo. The League took a year to respond, but did order Japan to withdraw, leading to a Japanese walkout. -

The League ot Nations, and the rest of the world did nothing. They turned their backs on a country that was one of the founding members of the nation. Games were played, faces were kept, but in the end Ethiopia and Ethiopians had to fight it out on their own. -
