Hirohito was crowned as the 124th Japanese monarch in the imperial line going back to 660 B.C.

Depression

The Great Depression hit japan. people sarted to look twards the military for leadership.

Conquest of Manchuria

Japan tried to gain control of the whole province in order to control all of Asia

3,000 people died off the coast of Honshu. Most of the deaths were not caused by the earthquake but by the tsunami that followed.
