Start of Soviet Union

The Soviet Union is when Communism started in Russia. This was a big change for the Russian people. The Soviet Union fights against Germanyin World War 2.

The Weimar Republic

The Weimar Republic was the old form of government in Germany. When it was replaced the new form of government was suppose to help Gemany become better. This is one of the first changes Germany made to make itself better.

Mussolini Takes Over

Mar 23, 1919

Mussolini was the creator of the Fascist party and gained power through riots and strikes. Mussolini used fear to rule and killed anyone who went against Fascism. His rule ended in July 1943. This relates to World War 2 because Hitler, the dictator or Germany, also ruled this way.

Versailles Treaty

The Versailles Treaty was the treaty to end World War 1. The agreements that were made put all the blame on Germany. This caused Germany to be angry with the other countries and would end up leading to them wanting revenge; this is one cause that leads to the second World War.

Nazism

The Nazi Party was created by Hitler when he came into power. This group was made to made to follow Hitlers command in Germany. He also made them racist nationaliist that would later help him fight in World War 2.

Stalin gains power

When Stalin became the dictator of the Soviet Union he transforms them from being weak to powerful. This allows the Soviet Union to prepare for the upcoming war and be ready to fight.

Beer Hall Putsch

The Beer Hall Putsch was created to try and otherthrow the Weimar Republic. This was Hitlers first chance to gain power in Germany.

Mein Kampf

This is the book Hitler wrote while he was in prision. This book is an autobiography and allowed Hitler to think about how he wants to be a good leader and change the world and make a Nazi party.

Fascism

Fascism is a form of government that has a dictator. Hitler was the dictator of Germany and used his power to brainwash people into thinking a certain way.

Great Depression

Although World War 2 was a terrible time in history, it helped America get through the Great Depression. Jobs were formed and allowed more people to work and earn money to help the community.

Japan's invasion of Manchuria and response of League of Nations

Japan's invasion of Manchuria was intended to start a war and caused other countries to prepare for a battle.

Hitler Becomes Chancellor

This is when Hitler gains power and created and makes the Nazi party powerful too. This is how Nazis were able to make laws against the Jewish people and seperate them from other groups.

Reichstag Fire

This fire burned down the German Parliment and the German people blamed it on Communist trying to take over. This caused the German people to hate Communism and anyone who was a Communist was seen as an enemy.

Nuremberg Laws

These laws were some of the first signs of racism towards Jewish people. These laws segregated the Jewish people and started putting them into different categorizes which later on brings the Holocaust.

Italy invadese Ethiopia and response of League of Nations

Oct 3, 1935

Italy wanted to rule Ethiopia but Ethiopia rejected them. So Italy invaded Ethiopia because they wanted to expand German territory.

Sudetenland/Appeasement

This was when Hitler wanted to make Sudetenland apart of Germany so he took over their government. He gained more followers during this event because he said we was doing this for the German people living in Sudetenland.

Munich Conference

This conference allowed Germany to annex areas of Czechoslovakia. This caused tension between the countries which would later be shown in the war.

Kristallnacht

Kristallnacht is also know as the "night of broken glass". Nazis attacked the homes of Jewish people.

Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact

This agreement was made so Germany and the Soviet Union wouldn't attack eachother. This helped Germany because when the War started they wouldn't have to fight at two-fronts.

Invasion of Poland

Germany invaded Poland because they were scared that they would form a secret alliance with France and go against Germany.
