Benjamin Franklin was born
Ben was his parents eighth child out of fifteen.
They lived in a small house that they rented on Milk Street in Boston, MA. -
Ben entered Boston Latin School
When Ben was 8 years old he learned to read, write and speak latin.
Ben was very smart so he was promoted from the 2nd grade to the 6th grade in one year.
Ben's father wanted him to be a pastor, but Ben was not excited about this.
Ben then went to writing school and worked with his father for 12-14 hours per day. Ben didn't like this either so he went to work with his brother James as a printer. -

When Ben was working at the print shop he descovered that he liked his bosses daughter Deborah.Then she became an important person in his life. -
Ben gets married
Ben has a common law marriage with Deborah Read. They had two children. Francis Folger was born in October, 1732 and their daughter Sarah was born in 1743. Ben also had another son named William that was born in 1731. -

Poor Richards almanac is officially published and ran for 25 years.
Poor Richards almanac was very successful in colonial times. -
Ben Franklin's kite experiment
Ben Franklin went outside on a stormy day. He put a key on the bottom of a kite then he let the kite get striked by lighting and that day he proved that lighting is a power source.
