    This was an evacuation of british troops from the French Sea port of Dunkirk to England. This was seen as a loss for the Allies because 100,000 allied soldiers were either killed wounded or captured by the Germans.

    This German Offensive loss was fought in an effort to capture Moscow, however this doomed the Third Reich. The germans advanced on Moscow in September 1941, but they were soon in trouble because of the harsh weather conditions. They decided to press on however because they did not want to stop this battle in the dead of winter. They advanced around the city but in January of 1942 the soviets launches a counter-attack forcing the Germans to go into a defensive. The Germans had 250,000 casualties

    Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, in a surprise attack just before 8 am on December 7th, 1941. Pearl Harbor was an American Naval base in Hawaii, and the main reason that the Japanese attacked it was because of their competing interests in Chinese markets and Asian Natural Resources. This event resulted in the participation of the United States in WW2. 3,581 casualties, and a large sum of naval ships were destroyed.

    This was a 5 day battle between the United States and the Japanese in the Pacific ocean, which changed the course of the war in the Pacific. The United States destroyed Japans first line carrier strength and most of their best trained naval pilots.

    This battle was one of the most decisive battles on the Eastern Front. The Soviet Union inflicted a catastrophic defeat on the German Army. This stopped the German advance into the Soviet Union and marked the turning of the tide of the war in favour of the allies.

    This battle was a German offensive loss against the Soviet Union. This battle took place in Kursk Russia, which is located near the western border of Russia; Near Ukraine. The goal of this battle was to win a decisive victory for the germans, following the loss at Stalingrad; However this resulted in 200,000 German Casualties. The Soviets had greater losses, but they won. This battle became the largest tank battle in history.

    The Allied forces landed on the northern shore of france, facing Hitlers Atlantic Wall. Troops from the United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, and other Allied powers stormed the beach, and this campaign lasted until July 24th, 1944. This campaign resulted in over 425, 000 troops combined on both sides were either wounded, killed, or went missing.

    The Battle of the Bulge marked the last of the German Offensive on the Western Front. This followed the Normandy Invasion, so Germany was already suffering massive losses. Less than four months after this battle, Germany surrendered to the Allied Forces.

    The Battle of Iwo Jima was an American offensive victory, were the United States seized the Island of Iwa Jima from the Japanese. This island was very important, because after the seizure of the island it became an emergency landing site for more than 2,200 B-29 bombers, saving the lives of 24,000 U.S airmen. This battle lasted 36 days, and resulted in 24,053 casualties.

    The Battle of Berlin was one of the final battles of WW2, and this battle ended with the fall of Berlin to the Soviet Red Army. The Red Armies Offensive efforts were the result of the suffering of the Soviet people since 1941. On April 30th, 1945 Adolf Hitler commited Suicide in his bunker in the center of Berlin. This battle resulted in 80,000 soviet deaths, and 50,000 german deaths.
