On September 19, 1777 the battle of Freeman's Farm took place. A British General attacked the Americans, but failed due to Gen. Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. Later, on Oct. 7 a superior American militia forced a combined 5,895 British and Hessian soldiers. The Americans win, it is a turning point in the war. -
