Battle of Ox Hill or Battle of Chantilly
It was fought in Fairfax County, Virginia. It was fought during a thunderstorm. Most of the dry ammunition was not usable so they had to use bayonets and musket clubs. There were 1,500 soldiers dead or wounded. It lasted for about 2 hours. It ended in a stalemate, or tie. -
Battle of Stones River
It was fought near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It lasted for 3 days. There were a total of 23,000 casualties. There were 35,000 soldiers for the Confederates and 42,000 soldiers for the Union. It resulted in a Union victory. -
Battle of Chickamauga
It was fought over the Chickamauga Creek in Tennessee. It lasted for 2 days. The Union had 60,000 soldiers and 16,000 casualties. The Confederates had 65,000 soldiers and almost 20,000 casualties. It resulted in a Confederate victory.
