Appomattox Court House-Confederates Surrender to Union Forces.

Grant's terms of surrender were generous and allowed the Confederate Soldiers to go home if they promised not to fight anymore. They could take their own horses and weapons. Food was also sent to the Confederate Soldiers. Grant would not allow the Union Soldiers to celebrate after the war, saying the soldiers on both sides were countrymen again.
