Although Americans fought, they were too outnumbered. -
Saratoga
The two Battles of Saratoga were a turning point in the American Revolution. On September 19th, British General John Burgoyne achieved a small, but costly victory over American forces led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. The American's were victorious. -
Monmouth
Washington attacked the British in Monmouth. This was a very even battle. Both sides claim to have won the war. The heat was a big factor and killed many on both sides. -
Cowpens
American General Daniel Morgan destroyed Tarlenton's British troops. The American's passed out many casualties and this was the turning point of the southern campaign. -
Yorktown
This is the final battle of the Reveloutionary War. The French assisted in the takeover of the British town of Yorktown. This gave the americans the win over the British and would soon lead to independence as a nation.
