Battle of Concord
The British marched onto Concord and faced 3,000-4,000 militiamen. the British were defeated. Samuel Adams said to John Hancock "What a glorious day for America" which was the fist time in history it was referred to as America. -
Battle of Lexington
The British troops followed John Hancock and Samuel Adams to Lexington. British soldiers attempted to get the colonial army to lower their weapons, but there was a shot fired, nobody knows which side the shot came from, it is better known today as "the shot heard around the world." The battle lasted 15 minutes and a total of 9 people died. -

They were fighting over control of the peninsula, the British won. -
Battle of Trenton
George Washington and his men crossed the Delaware River with over 2400 troops, Surrounded the Hessian's on all sides. Hessian's were passed out drunk from their Christmas Celebrations. George Washington and his men killed 30 Hessian's, took 918 prisoners, and were able to take the Hessian’s weapons -
Battle of Saratoga
Saratoga was considered a turning point in the war, this was when the French thought the colonist might be able to win the war, and began supplying them with men, arms, and their Navy. The British stretched their supply lines, and ended up having to surrender. -
The Battle of Yorktown
With the French helping them, the Colonist corner the British in a small peninsula and bombard them with cannon fire, this causes the British to surrender and end the American Revolution. Th colonists gained their independence, and two years later developed the Treaty of Paris.
