    The first battle of the American Revolution. Minutemen (colonists) vs. GB. British decided to retreat, so therefore the colonists (America) won this battle.

    This was the bloodiest battle of the Revolutionary War. GB bombarded "Breed's Hill" 3 times before sending troops up! Colonists repelled the attacks before running out of ammo. Technically GB won, but colonists claim victory since they stopped GB advance. This caused even more colonists to turn on the king and become Patriots.

    America planned a surprise attack on GB in Ticonderoga and seized some of GB's artillery, moved it to Boston with them, and used it against them later in the war. So America won this battle ... (surprise attack).

    The British took action in Brooklyn against the Continental Army and was successful. This battle was the first major battle of the Revolutionary War since the Declaration of Independence.

    George Washington knew that since they were fighting in the winter GB would once again be caught off guard. So he decided to get his troops and attack GB. The Continental Army ended with another victory against GB.

    In this battle George Washington was the one who was caught off guard, He was waiting on the British, but when he realized GB's real plan he made his way to Philadelphia. That way he delayed the capture of Philadelphia, and he succeeded. This was a British victory.

    The Continental Army had GB surrounded after two days. After negotiating for a week the general of GB finally decided to surrender. This was the turning point if the Revolutionary War. This victory helped France make up their mind on becoming allies with America and declare war on England.
  • Battle of Charleston (SC)

    England had the Contenintal Army trapped and told them to surrender. America wasn't going to let them win that easily, so of course they resisted. England continued to bombard America. America tried to negotiate, but England wasn't having it. America inevitably surrendered. GB had won this battle.
  • Battle of Cowpens (SC)

    America slowed the invasion of NC from England. Once again, America caused England to retreat. This gave America hope that they could win the war. During the process, there were 135 deaths and 1,017 casualties total. This hurt GB More than it hurt America. The Continental Army gained another victory.
  • Yorktown / Surrender (VA)

    Yorktown / Surrender (VA)
    America, and their ally France, trapped GB's army on a peninsula in VA and forced them to surrender. This was the last major war of the American Revolution. So, this ended the war and started America's independence from Great Britain.
