Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton was a very famous victory for the Americans. In Trenton, there were many German mercenaries that had been partying all night as it was Christmas, so Washington saw an opportunity in this. He and his army crossed the Delaware River and fought the Hessians. There were almost no American casualties. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was actually two battles that took place September 19th and October 7th. It was another noteable American victory in the end that in the long haul convinced the French to join the fight against the British. -
Siege of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was the last battle of the American Revolution. This battle was what made the British have to surrender. With the aid of the French, the patriots were able to capture General Cornwallis and his army, leaving the British with no other choice but to negotiate a surrender.
