They lost because they ran out of supplies and ammunition. British General William Howe led the redcoats up the hill. A battle where the British started to plan towards the strategic focus to the American Southern colonies. The American lost one of the worst battles at the Battle of Charleston. Commander for the Americans was General Benjamin Lincoln while Sir Henry Clinton the British commander led the British into Charleston with 10,000 soldiers. -

This was a major victory for the British in the Southern Theater of the American Revolutionary war. The British were commanded by General Charles Cornwallis facing against major general Horatio Gates. -

It was a battle in Greensboro, North Carolina. This war the British won under Lieutenant General Charles Cornwallis against Major General Nathaniel Greene in North Carolina. This bait or trap actually helped the United States win the wars. -

Last battle of the revolution. George Washington was the commander of the continental troops while Charles Cornwallis was the commander of the British troops. George Washington and the french and continental troops won the battle by using the navy to blockade James River.
