The Battle of Bunker Hill was the first major battle of the Revolutionary War. Artemas Ward was the British general. On the other hand the continental general was General William Howe. The British were successful they won. Battle of Bunker Hill became a symbol of American fortitiude. American soliders were untrained and they stood up to the best army in the world even if though they lost. "Bunker Hill" was a chant that was used throughout the war.

The second Battle of Saratoga was won by the Americans due to the British surrenduring. The British general was John Burgoyne, the American general was Horatio Gates. This battle was in New York. The Americans had about 11,000 troops and they were well equipped. The British had a weaker army due to the first battle so they weren't as equipped. At the end of the war the British surrendured because they had no choice because they were going to be defeated.

The battle of Monmouth had no winner people declared it as a draw. The British general was Henry Clinton, the American general was George Washington. The battle was fought because it was winter and the Americans had no supplies. They were desperate in the cold. There were 10,000 British troops and there were 11,000 American troops. Up to 100 people died from heatstroke in the battle. It was hot and it was fought in bad conditions.
