The beginning
Hitler sends more than 250,000 German troops, some at the age of 15, to go across from Southern Belgium to Luxembourg. Then, these trops will advance about 50 miles into the allied lines to push back the defences. -

United States Army's Largest Battle Fought
The World War ll battle, Battle of the Bulge, began in mid-December 1944. It started off when the German forces counterattacked Belgium and Luxeumbourg and pushed the U.S. first army back. The result of the German attack smashing into the U.S. first army came to be known as The Battle of the Bulge. -
The town of Stavelot
The Allies recapture the town of Stavelot that was lost to the German army on December 17th. -
The Allied Transport planes
The allied planes drop 2,000 supplies to the forces held at Bastogne and destroy German ground vehicles. WIthout their own air support, there is not much German army can do. -
Christmas day
By now, 60 miles of territory have been achieved but the farthest march is stopped by British and American forces combined. On Christmas day, German losses 3,500 infantrymen and 81 tanks out of 400 vehicles. -
The Bulge
The bulge that the battle got its name from forms when the 101st Airborne Division is encircled with three german infantry division and one panzer division around the town of Bastogne. -
Bastogne's Encirclement
As the 4th division moves up from the south, the encirclement around the town of Bostogne is broken. The german advance stops and the bulge is contained when the American units push from the morth and the south. -
A Halt
Hitler orders a halt but doesn't retreat. He leaves his tired and exposed units at the mercy of allied forces across the Ardennes Front. -
Withdrawal
Three German Panzer Divisions withdraw from the front lines. -
The Attack
German attacks Bastogne and Belgium was called off. -
A slight Curve
The bulge created because of the German advances goes back to to the regular slight curve in the front lines.
