  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    At Lexington and Concord the minutemen were beat by the British and eight of their men were killed.The British were were led by Captain John Parker. The British continued to Concord and burned the weapons they found. However, the British took heavy losses in all with 73 dead and 174 wounded.
  • Battle of Bunker hill

    The battle of bunker hill was fought on breeds hill, and the Patriots were trying to take control of Boston. The Patriots built fortifications at the top of the hill, but since they were low on ammunition and their colonel even said ''Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes'', they lost to the British. However, the British suffered more than 200 dead and 800 wounded. The Patriots lost about 100 men and had 300 wounded.
  • Battle of Long Island

    The Battle of Long Island was fought on July 4, 1776 and was the first major battle of the Revolutionary war. Te British were attacking New York, and general George Washington was commanding the Patriot troops while general William Howe was commanding British troops. The British won, but 400 Maryland troops stopped much of the Patriot army to be captured or killed.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton was a small battle that was fought on December 26, 1776.This battle was a sneak attack and surprised the mostly Hessian army when the Patriots crossed the Delaware river. The Patriots captured nearly the whole Hessian army.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The Battle(s) of Saratoga were ought on September 19th, 1777 and October 7th, 1777.The first battle was won by the British, who were led by general John Burgoyne. The second battle was won by the Patriots, at Bemis Heights. In the second battle, the Patriots were led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. These battles were important becuase it helped convince the French to help us in the war.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    The Battle of Monmouth was fought on June 28th, 1778. The Patriots were led by general George Washington, and the British were led by lieutenant general Sir Henry Clinton, Major Charles Lee, and lieutenant general Charles Cornwallis. This battle improved the reputation of George Washington and ended the career of Charles Lee. The Americans had about 500 killed, wounded or captured.The British lost about 300 men, had 60 captured or wounded.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The battle of Cowpens took place on January 17th, 1781.The Patriots were led by Daniel Morgan, and the British were led by Sir Barnastre Tarleton. The Patriots had 2000 men and the British had 1000. The Patriots had 25 killed and about 60 wounded. The British had 110 killed and about 230 wounded, about 820 British soldiers were missing or captured.Daniel Morgan's forces won.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown happened on October 19th, 1781. The Patriots were led by George Washington and the British were led by Charles Cornwallis. The Patriots had about 18,900 men and the British had about 9,000 men. The Patriots won and took about 300 British lives and capture or wounded about 7,600. The Patriots had 88 killed and about 300 wounded.
