Battle of Hastings

The Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October 1066 between the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson, beginning the Norman conquest of England. It took place approximately 7 miles northwest of Hastings, close to the present-day town of Battle, East Sussex, and was a decisive Norman victory.

House of Plantagnet

Soviets Invade Poland

The Soviet invasion of Poland was a Soviet military operation that started without a formal declaration of war on 17 September 1939. On that morning, 16 days after Nazi Germany invaded Poland from the west, the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east. The invasion and battle lasted for the following 20 days and ended on 6 October 1939. This meant that even though the Soviets and the Nazi's have the non aggression pact, Hitler will not be able to completely take over Poland.

Operation Barbarossa

Operation Barbarossa was the code name for Nazi Germany's World War II invasion of the Soviet Union, which began on 22 June 1941. In the two years leading up to the invasion, the two countries signed political and economic pacts for strategic purposes. Nevertheless, on 18 December 1940, Hitler broke the non aggression pact and authorized an invasion of the Soviet Union. This lead to fighting between the Soviet Union and Germany and created bad blood.
