Constructive Empiric Principle
In 1980, Bas van Fraassen created the term "Constructive Empiric Principle". What this term means is referring to is an idea that accepting a theory is not the same as believing the theory to be 100% fact. In fact, they can believe that a theory is accurate on the basis that the facts merely line up with the theory that was proposed.
This Principle allows for the idea that science can change over time due to the information we don't have currently. -
Bas Van Frassen's Reflection Principle
" To satisfy the principle, the agent's present subjective probability for proposition A, on the supposition that has subjective propability for this proposition will equal r at some later time must equal r." (van Fraassen, Belief and the Will) *B. C. van Fraassen, "Belief and the Will", The Journal of Philosophy 81(5), May 1984:235–256. -
