An introduction to the philosophy of time and space
His book "An introduction to the philosophy of time and space" was published. This is when he started gaining more attention from other philosophers and the public. In this book he tried to develop a theory of space and time based on the notion of causality. He gives credit to his Professor Adolf Grünbaum of the University of Pittsburgh, whose work was in the same area. -
The Scientific Image
"The Scientific Image" was published. This book was the center of his work. It talks about what he calls “constructive empiricism.” His views were not widely accepted, but they were widely discussed and debated.

Bas van Fraassen currently works as a Professor of Philosophy at San Francisco State University and the McCosh Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Princeton University.
