    Bas Van Fraassen is a Dutch-American philosopher who has made major contributions to the philosophy of science and epistemology. Bas Fraassen is as of right now a professor at San Francisco State University.     Bas Frassen earned his B.A. from the University of Alberta in 1963 and his M.A. the following year in 1964. Bas finally earned his P.h.D. right after in 1966, which following this began his work in writing the "The Scientific Image".

    Right after attain his PhD Prof. Van Fraassen wrote the "Singular Terms, Truth-value Gaps, and Free Logic" which worked off of another scientists work based on free logic vs many-valued logic which is portrayed through his explanation that with his other concept of supervaluations that they allow for solid arguments that cannot connect to logically true conditions. Which led to his other paper called "Facts and tautological entailment" in 1969, covering the same concept.

    Prof. Bas Fraassen coined the term "constructive empiricism" in his book The Scientific Image. Prof. Fraassen introduced the world to his biggest philosophy of constructive empiricism, a concept that rejects the fact we should automatically believe in a scientific theory or the facts that come out of it.

    Despite making one of the bigger hitting philosophies, Prof. Fraassen continued his work into the new century with works such as "On Stance and Rationality" where Fraassen continues to dig deeper into his philosophy of understanding the scientific nature.

    To this year, Prof. Fraassen is still working on improving what he made and actually has this year made a new article called "A Landscape of Logics beyond the Deduction Theorem" (Fraassen, 2022) Where base off of constructive empiricism Frassen talks about the Moores Paradox and essentially attempts to turn the theory into a paradox.
