France and Britain were again at war
There was a conflict with both France and Britain started seizing Amercian ships that were trading with their enemy. -
American Anger
American anger over impressment came in 1807 after the British ship, the Leopard, stopped an American ship, the Chesapeake's, to find deserters. When the Chesapeake's capin didn't want to allow the find, the leopard open fire. 21 soldiers were killed or hurt, it also triggered a case of war fever. -
Pirates
Pirates from other Barbary States still plundered ships in the Mediterranean. In 1815, American and European naval forces destroyed pirate bases.
