    Nebuchadnezzar II becomes king in 605 B.C - 562 B.C. He is the the most successful king of Babylon's history. During his reign he did many things: he captures Jersulum, builds the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, created the Ishtar gate in Babylon, etc. Also while he was ruling Babylon, the city-state became the most powerful city-state in the region.

It also celebrated the mythical triumpth of the Babylonian sky god Martu over the evil sea goddess Tiamat. Also during this time a new king was crowned or the present ruler's mandate was restored.

One similarity between the two is that both Babylon and Iraq have been involved in war. Babylon went to war with Assyria and Iraq went to war with four different countries. There are also differences as well. One difference is that Babylon was ruled by kings and Iraq is governed by its government.

The King had his sign removed and he was then accused of crimes against the city of Babylon. The King was hit and then was forced to kneel and plead his innocence. The King then had his sign restored.
