Criticism
His strong belief in freedom of speech led him to defend Robert Faurisson who is well known for his position regarding the Holocaust. Faurisson’s position is very controversial and Is now known as Holocaust denial. Chomsky was condemned for this and even labeled an anti-Semite. This incident had a long lasting effect on his career largely due to the fact that mainstream news sources did not publish and response Chomsky made to these accusations. -
