Cause:
Pemulwuy declares war; this war lasts over a decade against the British colonials. Pemulwuy gets captured but soon escapes.
Affect:
This leads to low food supplies until second fleet (death fleet) arrive with plenty of food for everyone. -

1800s decade
1800s:
Cause:
Pemulwuy gets shot and killed by two convicts. His head gets cut off and sent to Sir Joseph Banks in London by Governor King. Pemulwuy’s son, Tedbury carries on the resistance for another 8 years.
Effect:
This leads to low food supplies and convicts getting given guns to hunt for their food! -
1810s decade
1810s:
Cause:
Governor Macquarie arrives in New South Wales to reimpose British Government control. Macquarie establishes the first proper colonial police force. Macquarie offers Bushrangers a general pardon if they give themselves up.
Effect:
12000 British people in New South Wales and a crime wave in expectation of receiving the pardon. -
1820s Decade
1820s:
Cause:
Governor Darling restricts the settlement in New South Wales by making 19 counties that are forbidden for the settlers but soon disregard the rule and keep pushing looking for more pastures for their flocks.
Effect:
Creates the age of “the squatters who will sweep aside the old established order” -
1830s Decade
1830s:
Cause:
The government draw lines on the map of the colonies in Australia to show the limits of the settlement but the settlers forge further for more pastures to squat on. Effect:
Leads to dispute between the aboriginals and the squatters. -
Myall Creek Massacre
Cause:
30 unarmed Australian Aboriginals were murdered at the creek near Bingara NSW.
Effect:
After 2 trials, seven out of eleven settlers who were involved were found guilty of murder and hanged. -
1840s Decade
1840s:
Cause:
A select committee of the New South Wales government decide that the protectors of the aboriginals are completely useless and should be disabled.
Effect:
In the southern districts of New South Wales there are reports of food shortages for the aborigines. -
1850s Decade
1850s:
Cause:
A pastoralist releases 24 breeding rabbits into the wild for a part of a shooting game, and Blithy comments: “The introduction of a few rabbits could do a little harm and might provide a touch of home, in addition to a spot of hunting.”
Effect:
But in 10 years, rabbits are so widespread that 2000 000 rabbits could be killed each year without having any noticeable effect on the population. -
Eureka Rebbellion
Eureka gold rush rebbellion ( Eureka Stockade) Cause:
The police are dishonest crooks, soldiers are complaining about how the police treat them and licence fees
Effect:
3 people get arrested for purposly burning down the Bently Hotel. 200 miners left in the stockade who are easily defeated. -
1860s Decade
1860s:
Cause:
An act for “protection and management for Aboriginals” is passed in Victoria. During the next 20 years nearly 11000 hectares are ‘temporarily reserved’.
Effect:
Aboriginals are a lot happier. -
Henry Parkes
Returns to London to promote immigration to Australia

People keep in mind that Australia's a nice place to live.
Long Term:
People decide to come to australia to live and carries on 100 years to today to creat poulation. -
1870s Decade
1870s:
Cause:
1878- 1880,Ned Kelly the outlaw with his crew at large shot policemen, robbed banks and cut telegraph lines is now captured and his group destroyed.
Effect:
No more cut power lines, robbed banks etc. People feel a lot safer now. -
1880s Decade
1880s:
Cause:
The Republican League and the Republican Union are founded in Sydney with barely any movement this is the very first sign of a strongly independent national emotion since the Eureka rebellion in 1854. In Sydney riotous republicans interrupt loyal meetings and even speaker Henry Parkes is shouted down!
Effect:
Parkes gives a speech on creating a great government for all of Australia and earns the title: Father of Federation. -
1890-1901
1890s:
Cause:
17 September 1900 Queen Victoria proclaims the commonwealth of Australia.
Effect:
Australia begins life as Australia, the commonwealth is born. -
