1900s Clothing
Women wore full length dresses, with turtle necks and long sleeves with mimimal skin showing. -
1910s Clothing
Women were still wearing full length dresses with long sleeves but they were using more patterns and started wearing belts. -
1920s Clothing
In the 1920s there were some major changes in womens clothing. The dresses started to become shorter and the fabric varity was wider. Skirts were also introduced. -
1930s Clothing
There was very minimal change to clothing in the 1930s although hats became quite popular. -
1940s Clothing
Women started having more freedom with their dress wear. Their skirts and dresses became even shorter and they began wearing fashion sports clothes. -
1950s Clothing
Although the dress was still quite conservative the length was shorter and there were less sleeves. They also started using patterned material and puffy skirts. -
1960s Clothing
The clothing was still getting more revealing and there was even more patterns and colours with use of belts and buttons. -
1970s Clothing
Women could now be seen wearing these one pieces similar to a shirt and pants and they wore more vibrant colours with different sorts of fabric. -
1980s Clothing
Designers experimented with different cuts of dresses like straight cut dresses. -
1990s Clothing
Flower patterns were popular. Strapless dresses were introduced. The dresses got shorter.
