Eureka stockade
The eureka stockade was a fight againest miners and soldiers. It was around 30 people that died from both the miners and the goverenments soliders. The fight started at dawn but only lasted 20 minutes. This fight was caused because the miners were annoyed about having to buy mining lisence that they decide to stop buying them. The miners got what they wanted as they didn't have to buy gold lisence any more. It was the first step to becoming a democratic nation -
