    The Germans came to Australia in 1838. They first arrived in Adelaide in the South Australia colony. Later the Germans also arrived in Queensland. They set up wine shops in Adelaide.

    The first Afghan cameleers came to Australia in 1838. They came to assist in the early exploration of the inner country. they used camels because they could store lots of water in their humps so the Afghans didn't have to share the water they brought.

    The Chinese came to Australia in the 1850s. They arrived in Queensland looking for riches from the gold mines. Some set up shops to keep a stable amount of money. Like the Japanese they were also treated horribly.

    Japanese Settlers
    The first Japanese settler came to Australia in 1871. They settled in Queensland and worked in the sugar cane industry. While the Japanese stayed in Australia they were treated like Prisoners of war. They were fed the same rations of food that the Australian troops were fed and could not be forced to work.
