    James Cook, a British explorer, charted the eastern coast of Australia during April and August in 1770 on the ship "Endeavour". It was discovered accidently and they had no knowledge about this place or how that place even existed. Watch this video :D

    When returned to England, jails were becoming more jam-packed with criminals and because of the American Revoloution.They couldn't send any prisoners there, so they decided to send them to Australia.There were 162,00 convicts and more than 806 ships brought to Australia.The First Eleven ships, know known as "The First Fleet" included:The Alexander,TheCharlotte,TheLadypenrhyn,TheFriendship,The Prince of Wales,TheScaborough, H.M.S Sirius,H.M.S.Supply,The Fishburn,The Borrowdale &The Golden Grove.

    The French people came soon after the first fleet arrived. The gold rush brought more French people to come and strike some gold. The migration during the great depression was in large numbers.French people brought their wine making industry, the arts and religion.

    A Serbian man called Gavrilo Princip killed an Austrian called Franz Ferdinand so the Austrians wanted the Serbians to give Gavrilo or they will do something about it but Russia, as an ally of Serbia, said to not invade. The war all began because countries were allies and that's what they do. Protect each other. In 1945 ,6.5 million people migrated to Australia because it was not safe in their countries.They migrated by ships. This brought more populations to Australia.

    German, Polish, Russia, Japan, United States, Great Britain, Canada, China, France,Belgium &India were some of the main countries involved in WW2. These countries migrated to Australia because it was safe, there was education and jobs by Ship mainly and sometimes by plane. This brought multiculturalism to Australia, building a stronger and more diversed country.

    Just a single peice of gold, discovered by Edward Hargraves and John Lister in Bathurst, New South Wales; found Australia's first payble gold. It was not until 3 months later in Ballarat and Bendigo, in Victoria when people from France, America, Britain, China ,Poland, Italy, Germany& Hungary came to strike gold. It was a very wide range of diversity but also racism, especailly for the Chinese. These countries migrated because there were large amounts of gold by Ships and boats.

    As north Vietnam took over south Vietnam, the country became communist governed. This started a war, it killed around 3.8 million Vietnamese and 58,000 U.S soldiers .It was to dangerous to return home and so some Vietnamese stayed at refugee camps. They migrated to Australia because it wasn't communist governed, Vietnamese people came by boat. Coming to Australia they brought their culture and had their own resturants which is known for selling a Vietnamese noodle soup called "Pho".

    Because of Pol Pot, Vietnam War and The Khmer Rouge, they killed about one third of Cambodia's population.This was very gruesome and sad for Cambodians. Some people either went to Vietnam or Thailand for a refugee camp and then immigration to Australia by Plane.By migrating to Australia, Cambodian's brought their culture along with food, recipes, clothes and many more.

    Most countries from the world are still migrating to Australia for a better and free life. They migrate by airoplanes/airlines. Some people migrate because of marriage or jobs,other's for what Australia is ;but that's what Australia is today, a land of people who come from parts around the world.
