The First Fleet
The First Fleet were the first ever foreigners to go to Australia. They planted the Brittish flag on the shore of Australia and looked around. Captain James Cook led the First Fleet to Australia and left Australia not long after. -
The Gold Rush
The Gold Rush was the time when gold was being found in Ballarat, Victoria. It started when two men found a giant gold nugget which made more people search for gold. Some lost life due to the harsh conditions of the gold fields but some found loads of gold and became rich. -
Eureka Stockade
When miners from the gold rush did not like the rules of the gold fields, over 10,000 miners came together to burn down their lincences and fight. 22 miners and 3 soldiers were killed on the day. Peter Lalor led the eureka stockade. -
White Australian Policy
The White Australian Policy was a law that did not allow anybody except for Europeans (from England) to enter Australia. This was also the year Australia became a commonwealth and was no longer a part of England -

Stolen Generations Apology
Prime minister Kevin Rudd apologised for the stolen generations and for the things that the government did to Aboriginals for the past 220 years.
