First fleet landing
The first fleet landed and was separated into two states by a western boundary -
Van Diemen's Land
Van Diemen's land was a place of secondary punishment for convicts.
At the same time the border was moved west to make room for Melville Island. -
Western Australia
A settlement was formed on swan river in 1829.It was named Western Australia and its limits set at West Cape Howe
(south), Hartog’s Island (west) and Cape Londonderry (north), with adjacent islands included. The free settlement failed and becae a place of cheap labour. -
South Australia
South Australia was formed in NSW (New South Wales). SA included Kangaroo Island and other Islands. -
North Australia
North Australia formed in NSW and it's main settlement was Port Curtis. This settlement failed after 6 months and changed back to NSW -
Victoria
Victoria was settled by escaped convicts, whalers, and sealers, and to ward off the french, an official settlement was made in 1802 -
Queensland Panhandle
Queensland started wit a convict settlement at Moreton Bay, and Grazers, Miners, and farmers continued to colonise the coastal and inland area. Van Diemens' land was renamed Tasmania. -
SA Border
SA's western border was moved west, getting rid of the NSW panhandle. -
South Australia
Queensland was moved west so they could have access to a possible northern port. NSW north of SA was added to the area of SA
