Dutch finding Australia
Willem Janszoon sighted the coast of Cape York Peninsula made landfall at the Pennefather River near the modern town of Weipa in Cape York. He charted the whole of the western and northern coastlines and named the island continent "New Holland". But he made no attempt to settle. -

VAN Diemen's land
Van Diemen's Land was the name used by Europeans for the island of Tasmania. The Dutch explorer Abel Tasman was the first European to explore Tasmania. He named the island Anthoonij van Diemenslandt after Anthony van Diemen, the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies. Van Diemen had sent the young explorer Tasman to explore the area in 1642. -

The First Fleet Bound For Botany Bay
The first fleet sailing from Britain on 13 may 1787. The fleet was led by Captain Arthur Phillip. There were 11 ships for the 20,000 KM voyage. -
Landing In Botany Bay
The landing in botany bay was a great relief for the first fleet. But the land did not meet the expectations. Arthur Phillip commaded the fleet to port Jackson, which Captain Cook had discroved on his voyage. On 26th of Jan the fleet landed in Port Jackson. On this day Australia Day is celebrated. -
Convicts Rebel
600 Convicts want Liberty and these convicts were led by Phillip Cunningham and William Johnston, the rebellion however only lasted 3 days due to a battle with the British Army at Vinegar Hill. These was the largest convict rebellion in Australian History. The convicts were gathered from Castle Hill and Hawkesbury in New South Wales. -
The Rush
Edward Hargraves was one of few who claimed to have found gold in Australia, the rush was a turning point for the Australian population and economy to grow rapidly. Edward found gold at Lewis Ponds Creek in New South Wales, Australia. The amount of that was found was Five specks of gold.
