Between 21-24 August, 1851 James Reagan and John Dunlop started the Victoria gold rush in Ballarat which became one of the richest gold fields on the history of the world. -

The Victorian Gold Miners rebelled against the government because the miners did not want to pay licenses to mine. It was the most celebrated rebellion in Australian history. -
James Nash discovers gold in Gympie
James Nash discovered gold in Gympie. The Nashville Gold Field, as it was known at the time, attracted over 600 Chinese men. The Gold Rush ended when the field flooded 1893.
