    They ate food that was all native to Australia. They used everything they could from the animals or plants they gathered. All of the meat, vegetables and fruit were fresh because they had nowhere to keep it from going off. The had to move around a lot because of Australia's harsh climate meaning they didn't just focus on herding animals for farming crops instead they roamed around only taking what they needed.

    Australia was heavily influenced by British cooking techniques and taste. They moved away from their native foods and began to eat things such as cows, pigs and sheep. They also brought vegetables and fruit that weren't from Australia giving a wider range of foods. They brought ways of storing foods to last longer which meant they could get extra food to stock up instead of just taking what they needed.

    Balfours Bakery of South Australia claims to be the oldest bakery in Australia there is no clear answer though as many claim to be the oldest. The bakery was founded by James Calder and his wife Margaret Balfour. The impact this had on Australian Cuisine was it meant people could by bread and pastries instead of taking the time to make them themselves. This meant people had more time for other things and was the begining of buying premade food in Australia.

    After the war there was many refuges coming to Australia which changed what people ate because they all had their own unique tastes and cooking techniques that they brought with them. It also was Australia's first interaction with many other countries, so they got a verity of new food and spices from other countries.

    Vegemite was created by Cyril Callister after he was trying to make marmite in Australia. It was called Parwill for some time but eventually changed back. The second world war cut off Australia's supply of marmite, so people tried Vegemite and quite liked it. By the end of the war people quite liked Vegemite and decided to keep eating it even after they could have marmite.

    Milo was first by a man named Thomas Mayne but was then further developed by Nestlé during the economic depression. It was made to give the necessary ingredients to kids without it being too expensive. Since its creation it has become an Australian classic. It has become something every Australian knows about whilst still giving vitamins for kids in a tasty drink.

    World war two lead to many changes because of the trauma people survived and all of the resources and people they lost. Many of the young men in Australia died leaving a loss in the work force as the women were forced out again. Many people escaped to Australia from other countries and brought with their culture and cuisine. This opened up people to a new verity of food.

    KFC coming to Australia was a huge event because it was the first fast food restaurants for Australia. This meant people could get quick food that they could take home with them. This food is unhealthy, so it had a huge impact on people's diets because of the amount of sugar. It also paved the way for other fast-food restaurants in Australia.

    The universal immigration policy had a huge impact because it meant they were no longer only a white country which meant that they had a verity of cuisines to try. It meant they could try Asian dishes which brought a lot of spices, cooking techniques and flavors. It created a lot of new restaurants which meant there was more job opportunities meaning people had more money to spend on foods.

    I predict that there will be a lot more bush tucker. Bush tucker may be recognized as the official Australian cuisine and many bush tucker restaurants will open. Native ingredients will be used in more dishes. Native ingredients will be easier and cheaper to source.
