Because the first nations people didn't feel the need to domesticate animals or grow crops in a small area, they instead hunted for animals in the wild and gathered different plants from unknown sources. -
The arrival of the first fleet
In the year that the first fleet came to colonise Australia, they brought along ingredients like salted meats from domesticated animals they brought along, flour, rice, salt, sugar and other grown crops from Europe. They later found that the soil was not the same as back home and had claimed that the native food there was "inedible". -

As more Chinese immigrants made their way to Australia, they introduced their customs when it came to cooking. -
Meat canning
Meat canning had started to grow more popular in Australia and were all then exported to Britain. -
French influence
Although there was a distinct lack of a French population in Australia, more restaraunts opened their doors basing themselves in French influence. -
Railway
Railway systems had become more functional, helping transport people and goods much easier. -
Italian influence
Italians who had called Australia home grew more of their own food such as mulberries and olives. -
Frozen meat
Around the time of the 1880's, the first successful shipment of Frozen meat to Britain had occured. -

As they grew more crops, thousands more arrived and were employed to work in sugar cane fields and mines which led to them expanding into the food industry. -

Because the US Military residing in Australia at the time was asking for more food supplies, in exchange they brought along their technology to "renovate" our food industry. -

Supermarket expansion
Supermarkets, frozen and fast foods had now increasingly grown in popularity and now products were at more of a high demand because of how convenient they were. -
Restaraunt openings
as more and more migrants immigrated to Australia from all over the globe, restaurants began opening to showcase their traditions and cuisine, even merging. -
Chinese Restaraunts
As more and more Chinese-based restaurants began opening up shop, Italians were climbing their way to taking up the authority of growing fruits and vegetables. -
