    The Aboriginal people were in Australia thousands of years before the British. They lived very differently to the British. They use natural materials like leaves to make things such as weapons, boats and other tools. They had tribes to separate the land and had a different form of government.

    The industrial revolution is a time when the machines where doing the jobs for people. before the industrial revolution, 80% of people lived in the country doing these jobs, but when the industrial revolution started, about 50% of the 80% moved to the city loking for better jobs.

    American war of Independence finished.
    The American war of Independence finished so the Americans refused anymore convicts from Britain so the British need to find somewhere else to send the convicts... Australia.
  • Captain Cook

    Captain Cook set out to sea in search of new land. He came across Australia and went back to England to inform the government. He told them that he had found a new and that is terra nulius (meaning no people/deserted)

    There where 11 ships in the first fleet.they took 8 months to get to Australia. They sent convicts, marines, sailors and free settlers. The where also sent with governor Arthur Phillip to be in charge of the colonies. The convicts were not fed well. They were fed things like ox cheek, soup, peas, bread or biscuits.
  • Bennelong

    Around 1790, governor Phillip got some people to kidnap some Aboriginal people and one of these peoples name was Bennelong. Bennelong was used to help the British understand the Aboriginal ways and described himself and Phillip as father and son. When he escaped, Phillip spent many years trying to find him again, and when he heard about that someone had found his whereabouts, Phillip was excited.

    When Bennelong escaped, Phillip spent many years trying to find Bennelong and when he heard about his whereabouts, he got excited. he set sail on the search for Bennelong. Bennelong was on a beach with a tough soldier. Bennelong ordered the soldier to through his spear and it pierced through Phillips chest. the spear was called a payback spear, used for payback. Phillip told his men not to react as he deserved it.

    The black war a time period over a few years were the soldiers would line up in a row and march across Tasmania shooting the Aboriginals and abusing the Aboriginal women.
