    Japanese
    Around the late 1800s small numbers of Japenese started to emigrate to Australia. The Japenese were attracted to the thriving pearling industry in the north. When they made diving suits in the 1880s pearling companies started to hire skilled Japenese divers to replace the Indigenous Australians. In the early 1900s the Population of Japenese started to rise and was about 3500.
  • Central and South Asia

    In the mid 1800s with expeditions to inland Australia at their peak settlers and explorers found that wagons and horses were not a suitable form of transportation. Camels were introduced for crossing the hot dry land. It was neccessary to get cameleers for people who are skilled in handling animals. The cameleers started to come around in 1860 there numbers grew through the decades. In the 1870s they started to make a railway which provided a rail link between the eastern states and Western Aus.

    Around 1934 Lutheran Pastor August Kavel started to make plans to head off to the new colony South Australia a group of 500 Lutherans arrived at Port Adelaide in 1838. Many of the Early German settlers were either Farmers, Tradespeople, Blacksmiths or Carpenters. They had alot of success in wine production. In the 1850s lots of German migrants came to Victoria to see if they could get any gold in Victoria by 1961 there were around 10 000 Germans in Victoria.

    Around the 1850s Chinese miners started getting attracted by the gold and migrated to Australia they did this so when they came back to their families they would be super rich. Around 500 000 Migrants came to Australia for the gold in just a decade! In 1955 they pulled out a Anti Chinese legeslation.
