The First Fleet

The First Fleet left England with convicts to establish a prison colony

New South Wales

New South Wales was officialy a prison colony consisting mainly of convicts, marines, and their families.

Tasmania

Tasmania was the destination for the hardest of convicted British and Irish criminals.

British Transportation

Mar 13, 1868

British transported prisoners to Austrailia until 1868. By this time many free imigrants were settling there. They uilt bussiness , trading posts, farms, etc.
